This weekend, there is another big convention going on in the southeast. And if you are in the Memphis area, I have some great news for you! The 2013 Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention is from Friday November 15th to Sunday November 17th at the Memphis Hilton at 939 Ridge Lake Blvd in Memphis, TN. Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention will have many things the entire family can do! There will be many tracks like Steampunk, Anime, Harry Potter, Costuming, Film, Lego’s, Gaming, and more! There will be a costume contest on Saturday where the best costumes will win money. There will be the Memphis Sci-Fi Cinema Showcase on Friday night featuring movies. There will be lots of gaming available including board games and video games. The band V Is For Villains and signer Jess Harnell will perform live concerts. And there will be plenty of vendors and exhibitors!
One special feature this year is the Bricks and Heroes which will feature, MOC (My Own Creation) LEGO Exhibits, LEGO Vendors, LEGO Stop Motion Animated Movies, LEGO Programming, LEGO Swap Meets, Panel Discussions, and Much Much More! If you love these toys, you will want to be at this convention! And there will be lots of things you can learn at this convention. Jess Harnell will show you how a cartoon is made and you can watch a live cartoon being made at the convention!
And the Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention will feature some big name guests! Jess Harnell who voiced Wakko Warner from Animaniacs and is the announcer of America’s Funniest Home Videos will be there! Writer and director Craig Brewer will be there. Jerry “The King” Lawler from the WWE and who is an artist will be there. Mike McCarthy and Jim Cornette will be there. And there will be many authors, artists, science guests, and filmmakers there! If you love being a geek/nerd, the Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention is the place for you this weekend!
